This project forms a solid foundation for a few possible continuations of this study:

• Collecting samples of modern and historical flows to analyze through spectroscopy, generating usable band-ratios to help identify these flows from satellite observation.

• Updating geologic maps of the area using hyperspectral data to identify minerals associated with decomposition of lava flows.

• Using SAR data to analyze changes to surface coverage caused by the eruption, from ash coverage to changes in agricultural land.

• Deeper study of the land usage changes caused by the eruption with a focus on how the community has rebuilt itself since the eruption.
