  • La Palma is the westernmost island of the Canary Islands, Spain.

  • Official 2020 population of the island stands at 85,840.

​​

  • The most recent eruption of the Cumbre Vieja Volcano on La Palma was from September 19, 2021 to December 13, 2021; and was the first volcanic eruption on the island since 1971.

​​

  • La Palma is home to one of the few known monogenetic lava fields, lavas in the south of the island are primarily Basanitic in composition.
